Winter Vision Meetings

WVM Workshops

Welcome to the Workshop on Person-Oriented Vision (POV) 2011.

*** Deadline extended to 23:59 PDT 3rd September 2010 (this is a firm and final deadline) ***

Submission is now open, through the CMT submission system. New submissions are welcome; submission of full papers by 3rd September.

The majority of researchers in computer vision focus on technology and systems which advance the state-of-the-art, however there is very little focus on how we can make the state-of-the-art useable by the majority of "ordinary" people. Additionally, more research is required to provide interactive or accessible techniques to address the shortcomings in current computer vision solutions.

Developing methods to make computer vision accessible poses many interesting questions and will require novel approaches to the problems. This one day workshop will bring together researchers in the fields of accessible and interactive computer vision to discuss the state-of-the-art and the direction of research. We invite the submission of original, high quality research papers on accessible and/or interactive computer vision.

POV is part of the Winter Vision Meetings, a set of workshops co-located with a single registration. WVM 2011 will be held from the 5th to 7th of January 2011 at the Sheraton Keauhou Bay (near Kona) on the Big Island in Hawaii.

The room rate for meeting participants is $139 per night (exc. applicable taxes). The reduced rate of $119 per night is available for students. Accommodation can be arranged through the WVM web site.

We look forward to seeing you in Hawaii!
